Why I Celebrate Easter

Hey Lovelies,

I know that Easter can mean many different things for many different people but for me one of the main reasons I celebrate Easter is in memory of the resurrection of my Saviour.

So since it’s Easter Sunday I thought I would share with you five of my favourite scriptures relating to Easter as a reminder to myself and possibly you as to the main reasons why we celebrate Easter.

Luke 23:42-47

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shinning.  And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.  Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”  When he had said this, he breathed his last.

The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

Romans 4:25

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Acts 3:15-16

You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.  You killed the author of life but God raised him from the dead.  We are witnesses of this.

John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.  Do you believe this?”

Job 19:25

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

Hope you guys enjoy this holiday.  You can check out my last post here for some last minute yummy Easter inspiration.

Many Blessings, Grace.
