Hey Lovlies,
If you read my first blog post then you would know that I was home schooled for most of my life but I started going to TAFE at the beginning of this year. I’m doing a certificate 3 in retail cakes and pastry which means that within the next three years I should be a qualified pastry chef. I told you guys in my first blog post that I would talk a little more about my experience at TAFE in the future.
Here is a picture of one of a fruit flan that I made the second week of TAFE…
I just finished my first term at TAFE so I thought now would be the perfect time to share with you guys three things you may wish to know before you go to Tafe. (Please keep in mind there are so many different courses so this is my experience as a pastry chef.)
1. It goes by so fast.
I felt like it was just yesterday when I walked into the classroom for the first time, the time has gone by so fast. Remember to listen and retain each and every moment.
2. There is not set schedule.
By this I mean most primary and high school students attend class Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. This is definitely not the case for students attending Tafe. Some students that I know end class as late as 10pm while other students like myself start class as early as 7am. Also the amount of days you have to attend Tafe differs from class to class.
3. Be yourself.
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of trying to ‘fit in’ just so other people will ‘like you’. Make sure to be yourself even though I know that this can be hard.
1 Corinthians 15:33 says… ‘Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.”
I hope this helped you guys out. I also just created a pinterest account so be sure to head over and check it out.
Many Blessings, Grace.
